frustrating, i got angry. i was so very passionate, following what happened at sandy hook, as we all were. and my position on what should be done about gun control, i've been advocating for a long time. so this to me was a tipping point. and to hear them continue to espouse this, you cannot touch any guns philosophy, i found very frustrating. with alex jones, i took a different tact. my tact was to try and show that i could be a listener, that i would give him the time to explain, articulate his position, but instead, he didn't want to debate anything or discuss it. but i found it illuminating that during his rant, you got a real sense of what an element of the more extreme gun activists in this country genuinely believe. they believe that their government will perform as a sort of tyranny and overthrow them or try to, and that is why they all need to be heavily armed. and that's what he believes. that's what his followers, to his pretty well-listened to show believe. and i think sometimes, you have to give people just enough rope to tie themselves into a large, pretty unedifying not. and

boehner to bring to a vote the needed relief for our fellow americans suffering from hurricane sandy is an outrage. then they let the session end without reauthorize and the violence against women act. they let a normally bipartisan legislation expires since the first time since 1994, putting women across the country of risks because they wanted to refuse to protect vulnerable populations like immigrants and native americans and members of the lgbt community. with priorities like that, you will not be surprised if this. we conducted some critical research on independent women voters in battleground states. what we found was quite stunning. the women there were not impressed with congress. what is stunning is that 77% of these independent women voters -- 77% -- said that congress was old, out of touch male politicians who do not have a clue what life is like for people like them. i am pretty sure that if we hold on new year's eve, the number -- pulled will -- polled on new year's eve, the number would be even higher. as one talked-about the numbers -- i just want to talk about the cha

-life coverage of hurricane sandy. it is everywhere we need to be, to paraphrase some advertisement or other. it is a great, wonderful new world. the big difference is that you as the news consumer have to do the work they did not have to do before. you have to choose your pension plan, your healthcare plan, paper or plastic. you have everything thrown in your lap, and maybe most important is the information you choose to consume. you are what you eat. if you eat nothing but chocolate pudding your entire life, then you can venture out there and very your diet. it is all there. there are so many times when i have spoken in public forums and people will say, why are the media not covering x? how did you find out about that? it was on page 6, but they thought it should be on page one. the media you consume are not reflecting your priorities. they are run by people. if you go straight to google news, you can have an algorithm doing that search for you. i think you just have to swallow hard, do a lot, and realize this is all up to you now. i am not startling for the world that was at all. >> that
